Friends of Saddlebrook is a brilliant example of how much neighbors can do when they work together. “It’s one of those modern-day David versus Goliath kind of stories,” Saddlebrook Capital Campaign Committee Chairman Lisa Cole said in an interview with Fox59. “The little neighborhood that stood up to the bank and said, ‘you’re not going to take over our neighborhood and define what it is going to be in the future,’ we are.”
Friends of Saddlebrook began as a grassroots cause 2016, propelled by committed residents of multiple neighborhoods, to protect community interests in planned sale of the golf course. Officially formed as an Indiana LLC in early 2017, FoS got organized and really got the ball rolling — and in a few short months, assured the preservation of Saddlebrook as golf course.
